Scholarship Drive 2012The Cross Keys Foundation is committed to continuing our annual "Cross Keys Scholars" programs in 2012. No one articulates the value of this program better than students - read Mpaza Kapembwa's (CK '11) thoughts on CKF Scholarships in his post, "What Can You Do for Cross Keys Scholars." So far with your help we have recognized five seniors at Cross Keys High School and two eighth graders at Sequoyah Middle School with college scholarships, educational tools and events. Won't you help us make 2012 another success? The Scholars program has brought attention and recognition to the amazing young people of our attendance area and has served to inspire and motivate their peers (see video at right). As we continue our mission of providing "Every Opportunity for Every Child," please consider pitching. 100% of the proceeds go directly to a deserving student who represents the best of our community. Please donate what ever you can now. You can donate online or send checks payable to "Cross Keys Foundation" to: Cross Keys Foundation Your contributions to CKF are tax deductible as allowed under IRS regulations. Thank you! CK to Host County ChampionshipCross Keys HS will host the first Annual DeKalb County VEX League Robotics Championship on February 11, 2012. League play finished this week with Dunwoody Team B ranked #1, Cross Keys Team A ranked #2, and Cross Keys Team B ranked #3. The CK teams have been competing at the highest level in the State and seem to be peaking just in time to have a great shot at being the first ever to be crowned, "DeKalb County Champions." The Tournament occurs the same day as a Career Technology Open House that will provide an opportunity to see the Nursing, Dentistry, Manufacturing and other high tech programs being offered at the school. So come by in the morning to enjoy the Tourney and stay to tour the new facilities! Both events are family friendly and open to the public. Here's the Tourney schedule: 7:30am Pits Open Become a Member or DonateSupporting the Robotics team, funding S.T.E.M. workshops, awarding scholarships, funding classroom wishes all require money. You can do so online at: http://tinyurl.com/joinckf. We could not have accomplished this much without our members financial and moral support. I hope you consider joining today and I thank you for your support to-date. You can always help us with a good word, too, at our Tell-a-Friend widget!
